About Us
The Wood Joint is a family-owned and family-operated custom cabinet manufacturing company located in Sedona’s iconic Red Rock Country. The business was founded in 1974 by Phil and Barbara Zaun, who relocated their family from the frigid Wisconsin winter to the sunny Arizona summer.
Since then, the Zaun family motto has lived on through The Wood Joint:
“To create quality custom cabinets while also providing exceptional customer service from start to finish.”
After many years working alongside their parents, the Zauns’ two eldest children – Rod Zaun and Debbie Miller – became the second generation to run the business in 1991. And in January of 2020, Debbie’s daughter and son-in-law – Leslie and Sammy Wagner – became partners to bring a third generation aboard.
As it’s been passed on from father to son and mother to daughter, The Wood Joint’s fully equipped woodworking shop has remained in the same location where Phil and Barbara began their journey over four decades ago.
The names and faces may have changed over time, but our family motto here at The Wood Joint remains the same to this day. For that reason, and many others, we’re proud to carry on the Zaun family legacy of building quality custom cabinets and woodwork décor for all of Sedona and the Verde Valley.

The Wood Joint occupies a 10,000-square-foot facility in the heart of Sedona, AZ, housing both our sales office and our custom woodworking shop.
